Imagining how densely twisted wire would flow around a lamp’s surface, Clarence Mallari carved arcing lines into white composite to achieve the same sense of movement with the Groovy Table Lamp. To up the ante on the ethereal feel of the lamp’s body, he had the cylindrical shape finished in semi-gloss white. Pushing the limits of contrast, he topped the white table lamp with a black shantung shade with silver foil lining. The dark exterior is tonally the polar opposite to the metallic interior and the white column it sits atop.
