The crystallization happens when minerals in the glaze react to the heat in the kiln to create randomly placed geometric patterns. These delicate formations vary in placement and abundance to create a shimmering mother-of-pearl effect. At 18 inches high and 12.5 inches in diameter, this is a large vase. The organic nature of the crystalline glaze means no two vases are exactly alike.
