Palampores, or tree-of-life patterns have origins in India, where the exotic designs were hand painted and mordant dyed--then exported to Europe and England for use as elaborate bed hangings and curtains. Scalamandre's timeless tree-of-life print, Pondicherry, is offered in rich blues on cream crackled porcelain for today's classic interior.

The grand scale of the exotic tree is softened with finely detailed flowers and foliage, and is accented with small birds and animals. This is typical of this historic and favored fabric design.

The Pondicherry quatrefoil planter is scaled for four, 6" diameter plants such as orchids for an easy, yet perfect centerpiece. Place the four plants in the shaped planter, then add the custom florist detail by adding moss as filler for a finishing touch. You may also place a single plant for an elegant statement on the dining table.

We also love to use the planters for entertaining. Simply, layer bubble wrap on the bottom, then add cubed ice. The planter can then be used for wine or a drinks chiller on the sideboard.
